Familiar faces are to join Jeremy Kyle to celebrate his 1,000th show.

Members from the cast of Coronation Street will air their dirty laundry in a special edition of 'The Jeremy Kyle Show'.

Weatherfield's most dysfunctional family, the Platts, are to star in the anniversary special.

David Platt, his step-sister and ex-girlfriend, Tina McIntyre, and his big brother Nick Tilsely bring their family issues to the show in a bid to settle an ongoing dispute.

At the heart of the argument between David and Tina is the question of whether David's brother Nick had slept with Tina. Character Graeme Proctor, will also provide contributions from the audience.Maintaining their on-screen personas, the characters, played by actors Jack P. Shepherd, Michelle Keegan,  Ben Price and Craig Gazey, hammer out their issues with Kyle as the mediator.

In keeping with a typical episode on the rowdy chat show, David demands a lie detector to see if Tina and Nick have been sleeping together.

Gazey said they hadn't rehearsed beforehand, adding: "We're going to do it exactly how people do it.

"My character is quite funny and may come out with silly things but we're not doing it for a laugh. We want it to be as if the characters were on 'Jeremy Kyle'."

Keegan admitted she was nervous ahead of her appearance: "I like Jeremy Kyle. I always watch it, so it's a bit weird to be one minute watching it and the next on the show."

The special anniversary episode will air on ITV1 on Thursday March 18.
